What do the ancient scriptures teach us about Yoga?
In this gathering- we take the time to explore the subtle aspects and the roots of Yoga.

Seema will guide you through some of the highlights of Yoga philosophy. We will chant and discuss some of the key Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.
We will move and breathe consciously to explore the Mind-Body connection.
We will rest deeply in Yoga Nidra to rejuvenate all layers of our being.

So let’s celebrate this Yoga Day by honoring the deep and precious teachings of Yoga.

Join us at Mahé for this Sacred Summer Satsang!
Perfect for all levels of experience. Come as you are.

Who is Seema?

Greetings! Namaste! My Name is Seema Vijayan. Born and raised in India, to parents who practised yoga, pranayama and meditation at home, I was introduced to this ancient science of Yoga & Ayurveda etc. at a young age, in a playful manner. From my earliest memories of my grandmother chanting everyday at twilight, to listening in wonder to Vedanta & Gita lectures as a teenager - Yogic philosophy has always been part of my life.

Moving to The Netherlands in 1999, I lost touch with this aspect of my life - for various reasons, only practising when I felt stressed or tired. In 2000 - I completed my first Pranayama course from the Art of Living foundation in Mumbai. However it was only much later on in life, when confronted with physical and mental challenges, that I took upon the daily practices of Yoga & meditation integrally. I then completed the Inner Engineering course (By Isha foundation) in 2017. In 2018 - I had the blessing to be part of a 5 week Hatha/Prana Intensive course with my teachers in Mysore, India. (Atmavikasa, Mysore). It was a deep dive into this beautiful aspect of life - that I had left unattended for so long. I realised the huge impact the these practices have on my wellbeing & health. Especially Pranayama. (Breathwork). Intrigued by this mystery of Breath - In 2020, I decided to follow a Breath-intensive Hatha TTC with Max Strom.Max is a renowned Teacher, author and speaker - and his system (Inner-Axis Yoga) combines, Hatha , Chi-gong with slow deep breathing, designed to calm the nervous system, rejuvenate & heal the body-mind. After this I have also followed various Yoga courses /workshops etc. I am a certified Yin, Restorative & Yoga Nidra teacher.

I am deeply grateful for all the incredible teachers I have found on this path of Yoga. This year in 2023, I was part of the first ever Shakti-Kumbh in Rishikesh- the spiritual capital of India. This was a gathering of female spiritual teachers and practitioners to invigorate the principles of the Divine Feminine back on this planet. In my classes, I emphasize the practices of Pranayama, or other Breathwork techniques, along with fully feeling the physical postures. No headstands or pretzel poses in my class :-) - the intention is always mindful movement. I love to combine the traditional with the modern, bridging different aspects of Yoga.

Bringing the mind to rest with constant breath focus, deeply feeling whatever comes up in the present moment - makes the practice meditative and healing. I sometimes share Yogic or Indic philosophy or mythology -if applicable in the class. It would be an honour and my pleasure to guide you on your Yoga journey. So Come, Breathe with Me! :-)
